The General Manager of Educational Foodservice Operations directs a wide variety of food items required in a High School food service operation and assigns subordinates in such activities. The General Manger provides a strong leadership to a team whose function is exceptional service, exceptional quality and driving customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans, develops, implements, and revises organization policies, operations, and goals. Establishes and implements an organized system of supervision and general operating procedures. Maintains excellent customer communications and relations that permit continuous improvement in provided services, efficient problem resolution, and acceptance of new services Negotiates and interprets the terms of various contracts and ensures internal compliance with those terms. Is accountable for the delivery of high quality and cost-effective services as well as ensuring all activities and operations comply with applicable internal and external regulations, laws, and sound business practices. Motivate and guide others to work hard by building a sense of teamwork and commitment including clear communication and reinforcing aims and goals of team, unity, cooperation and excellence. Maintain a professional management and supervisory staff and a trained staff of full-time and part-time support staff, which will provide a quality food service program for the School. Supervisory Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Prepare and distribute in all food service areas, and in all resident halls, periodic printed or electronic information which will inform and educate the resident students about the dining center and the food service program. Prepare and implement once per semester a survey of the resident student population in an honest and scientific effort to determine student opinion about the food service program and respond positively to the survey conclusions. Makes sure the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all assigned employees are defined and understood. Consistently demonstrates professional skills in efficiently carrying out assigned activities, using all forms of communications, handling of change, developing employees, solving typical business problems, and making decisions. May manage subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing and operating foodservices of a related (approximately 600 meals a day) nature and scope. Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in food service management/supervision of commercial food service operations. Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in foodservice supervision of a minimum of five (5) employees. Physical Demands:

Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus);occasional walking; standing for up to 4 hours; occasional lifting of up to 25pounds. Work is performed in a professional office.
