POSITION PURPOSE -
The candidate will contribute to cross-functional strategic planning through the understanding of the current and future IT landscape and direction the business is heading. This role will help create and define the roadmap for our future enterprise interconnected Merchandise MDM/PIM strategy. They will work with the business and technology leaders to refine business strategy, identify supporting roadmaps and translate roadmaps into specific programs or projects that align with business goals and objectives. They will also identify and act upon opportunities for continuous improvement.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
•Develops a strong understanding of the business drivers and strategies, industry trends, key strategic partner relationships, and our competitive position in the marketplace.
•Works directly with functional leaders by positively contributing to the development of the overall strategy and increasing the company's competitive advantage through gathering and shaping IT requirements to deliver that strategy.
•Build, enhance and execute trusted relationships, strong partnerships and communication at the senior management level and act as a trusted advisor to those executives to align business and IT strategy.
•Encouraging prudent risk taking, exploration of alternative approaches, and organizational learning.
•Partner with the IT Architecture and Solution Delivery functions with insight into the future strategic direction of the Merchandise business area and ensure visibility of business area IT demand in the IT planning processes.
•Assist the business in forecasting and translate business strategies into IT project planning. Develop short to medium term strategic IT roadmaps (typically covering 1 - 2 years) required to support the Merchandise business.
•Provide strategic consultation to the Merchandise business in defining or designing business processes, capabilities, and functions, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling existing and new technologies based on business requirements.
•Identify and create opportunities to collaborate with others across organizational boundaries and geographies to develop innovative solutions and find points for leverage (e.g. services and capabilities that can be shared.) across the enterprise.
•Identify opportunities for business-IT experiments and proofs of concept where these might mitigate risk or enable strategic options.
•Reinforce and ensure compliance with IT enterprise governance.
•Assess near-term to long terms needs, using structured methodology, to help establish priorities; consult with technical subject matter experts and develop alternative technical solutions; Identify options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact analysis in support of the business

NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports Director, Enterprise Architect, or Vice President

Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area.
Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 10

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
'- Deep understanding of Retail Operations and how Merchandising fits into overall business process
- Solid understanding of what role PIM and MDM play in Merchandising Opeations.
- Functional and technical understanding of key Merchandising MD objects including Item, SKU, Vendor, Assortment, and Pricing.
- Knowledge of PIM & MDM best practices and industry trends.
-10 plus years related experience.
