Responsibilities:Work as part of a small OSS engineering team to design, develop and implement software applications and web servicesUnderstand and evaluate complex data modelsDocument and demonstrate solutions by developing clear code and documentationAnalyze business requirements and objectives into technical application and solutionsReview, improve and maintain existing codebaseEffectively communicate with team membersResponsibilities may include the mentoring of more junior developers, as well as daily interaction with management on progress, issues, and ideasEssential Skills:
Individual should have a broad technology background, with primary software development skills in Java J2EE. Background should include a solid understanding and exposure to object modeling, business service development, as well as development of scalable and secure API/User Interfaces.
Solid experience in developing software contracts and interfaces, as well as integration technologies such as REST and SOAP-style Web Services, will be a prerequisite.
The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of server and network infrastructure, preferably in a software development context. Use cases such as automated provisioning, service level test and measurement, and triggering automated recovery actions are all applicable.
The position may include the mentoring of more junior developers, as well as daily interaction with management on progress, issues, and ideas.
Required Experience:Demonstrable software engineering expertise in Java J2EEExpertise in developing REST and SOAP-style Web ServicesExperience in architecting large volume, diverse, multi-application systemsProcess engineering and automation knowledge, including OrchestrationProgrammatic interface development, using a Web Services style interactionStrong Linux/UNIX experience, including shell scriptingStrong written and verbal skills
