# Description




Position Purpose
The Local Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the planning and execution of strategic efforts to drive registry creates and guest traffic to Babies"R"Us standalone stores within a designated market area.

Responsibilities

•Develop and implement an aggressive local marketing strategy to drive increased guest counts and new registries through rigorous medical marketing and establishing beneficial partnerships.
This will be achieved through the following:
o Seek out and nurture mutually beneficial partnerships with hospitals and hospital networks within each store's primary trade area, focusing on those with higher birth rates.
o Build and maintain relationships with local ob/gyn offices to ensure that Babies"R"Us is the partner of choice for material distribution and partnerships as part of the prenatal mom's
experience with the service provider.
o Build strong connections with expectant moms in market/community through community partnerships. 
•Create high visibility for the Babies"R"Us Baby Registry program in the market to increase number of new registries and registry sales through external marketing and local events.
o Research, identify and participate in local events aimed at reaching pre-natal moms and determine return on investment for participation at various levels, including sponsorship.
o Drive event attendance through creating awareness of local and store events where Babies"R"Us is participating.
•Collaborate with other Local Marketing Specialists, in close Designated Market Areas (DMAs).
•Develop unique in-store events that differentiate Babies"R"Us from the competition and create excitement and interest and drive Guests to the store.
o Partner with birth related medical professionals on opportunities to host in-store events.
o Identify opportunities to partner with non-medical professionals to conduct in-store events geared to expecting parents.
o Evaluate in-store events against expectations to ensure that maximum opportunities to drive traffic are reached.
•Work closely with RHQ, District Manager, and Stores to develop and execute a local marketing strategy for the multiple store market:
o Build partnership with Store Managers.
o Solicit feedback and collaborate on Local Marketing efforts.
o Provide all partners with visibility to marketing efforts within their assigned DMA.
o Ensure execution in stores on National, District, and Local Marketing events.
•Build relationships with Registry Team Members.
•Manage individual expenses and budget associated with the Field Marketing efforts while focusing efforts on event ROI's and optimizing the annual budgets.
•Frequent review of marketing efforts.
•Function as a Subject Matter Expert with all aspects of the Baby Registry business and our company strategy related to Registry.
•Review Internal Communications.




# Qualifications




•4 years of prior advertising/marketing education or experience necessary
•Ability to travel within designated DMA as needed
•Strong leadership, communication, motivation and time management skills
•Excellent oral, written and digital communication skills
•Ability to work independently and with many levels of management
•Ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities
•Ability to operate within complex networks and form community ties
•Ability to work in a diverse environment
•Experienced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint user.
•Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation and car insurance required
