Aerotek is looking for qualified candidates to fill a Mortgage Processor position with an esteemed client in the Pensacola, FL area. The shift is 8:30 AM - 5 PM OR 10:30 AM - 7 PM, Monday through Friday. For compliance purposes, candidates must be able to pass a lifetime federal background check, and have no more than $3000 in collections.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1-3 years of mortgage/home equity, real estate, title, insurance, paralegal or related administrative experience
  • Previous customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulations, instructions and procedures
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work effectively with automated systems and possess basic personal computer skills

Basic Purpose: to process first mortgage loans in accordance with applicable federal/state laws, as well as Navy Federal's policies and procedures. To provide information to members regarding mortgage requirements, products and related services.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Processes mortgage loan applications according to established guidelines and requirements.
  • Interviews and counsels members, face-to-face and over the telephone.
  • Enters Conventional and Government Refinance and Purchase 1st mortgage applications into Application Processing System based on interview/counseling session(s) with members.
  • Provides detailed information on available mortgage loan products, clarifies questions/concerns and resolves problems regarding processing loan.
  • Communicates outstanding documentation requirements and sets appropriate deadlines for submission.
  • Examines preliminary title work, status reports, hazard and flood insurance policies to determine if property condition/insurance is within acceptable levels.
  • Relays loans status to member and other member approved parties, responds to inquiries and resolves any issues concerning the processing of the 1st mortgage application.
  • Prepares loan disclosures required by Federal/state laws.
  • Verifies "intent to proceed" by member prior to collecting required fees, requesting appraisal and ordering title work.
  • Reviews received CR applications for accuracy and submits for decision via Automated Underwriting or Manual Underwriting depending on selected loan product.
  • Identifies circumstances in which additional documentation may be required.
  • Coordinates final loan application changes, revision and corrections with other mortgage staff, closing agents and settlement attorneys to ensure accurate and efficient processing of mortgage loans.
  • Communicates with Loan Officer on applications status and updates Loan Officer on outstanding documentation issues.
  • Maintains contact with Member, Realtor and/or seller on loan progress and responds accordingly.
  • Prepares/submits final applications and credit packages for submission to the Underwriting staff, private mortgage insurance companies, Department of Veterans Affairs or Federal Housing Administration for approval.
  • Coordinates schedule of settlement with member and selected settlement agent.
  • Analyzes/evaluates title binder to determine status of title, title exceptions for acceptability; takes corrective action and obtains or orders additional documentation if required.
  • Records, tracks and monitors documentation issues and productivity.
  • Reviews approved mortgage loans for completeness, accuracy and any additional information required to close loan.
  • Reviews HUD-1 with closer/loan officer/settlement agent/member to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensures that loan processing and loans are in compliance with governing federal/state laws.
