Job Summary Department of Social Work - Administrative Assistant Senior

Under general direction, provides general administrative support to Social Work leadership and staff. Exercises considerable discretion and independent judgment and is capable of analyzing complex information requests and determining complex trends. Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and more than four years of experience. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.

Required Qualifications* High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Reasonable administrative assistant or related experience is necessary. Ability to keyboard with speed and accuracy is necessary. Considerable knowledge of and ability to use advanced business software and computer applications is necessary. Ability to utilize a variety of sophisticated information storage and retrieval systems is necessary

Desired Qualifications* Experience with and interest in coordinating payroll activities for a large department. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, to be accurate, thorough and timely in completion of work. Computer skills to accomplish work efficiently and in a timely way, including word processing and data entry. Ability to problem solve, think creatively and work independently. Ability to type 40 - 60 wpm with accuracy. Familiarity with medical and/or behavioral health terminology. Excellent telephone skills.
