Strategically plans and guides the daily operations of several work teams through teamwork with other Group Leaders focusing on overall building performance. Drives a positive reinforcing environment for all teammates. Ensures operational efficiency and effectiveness levels are set, maintained and continuously improved. Establishes and maintains open communications with internal and external customers and supplies. Maintains supply chain focus. Communicates shared knowledge with other GL’s and with teammates on results, business and competition. Facilitates discussion with other GL’s and teammates to establish and review the vision. Removes barriers to team performance. Champions diversity in the work force. Assumes Leader on Duty responsibilities on a rotating basis.

- Safety and Accident Prevention - Sets the tone through awareness and education of team members that all teammates are responsible and accountable for center-wide safety and health. Ensures safe work behaviors are taught and used at all times; and, where necessary, are enforced. Establishes team pride in maintaining orderliness. Performs behavioral observations to ensure safe techniques are being used.
- Merchandise Distribution - Provides guidance and direction to team leaders for the operation of an area(s) of the DC so that they contribute to the overall successful movement of merchandise within established levels of service, accuracy and productivity standards. Continuously gathers input and enlists support in developing alternative methods to improve productivity, accuracy, service and cost. Teaches GL’s how to schedule the flow of merchandise and how to staff the functional areas to meet or exceed budgeted productivity goals.
- Budget Administration - Assists in the developing of payroll, expense and capital budgets within prescribed guidelines. Guides operations to meet or beat total center budget goals. Prepares daily and weekly schedules to cover anticipated freight movement throughout the building. Plans schedules to promote life style scheduling for our teammates while meeting our financial goals. Adjusts schedules as needed in response to changes in freight volume.
- Training and Development - Provides guidance and direction to GL’s teammates for the operation of an area(s) of the DC so that they contribute to the overall successful movement of merchandise within established levels of service, accuracy and productivity standards. Continuously gathers input and enlists support in developing alternative methods to improve productivity, accuracy, service and cost. Provides oversight and guidance to teams and if necessary, serves as the tie breaker within the discussion process to promote timely execution. Actively coaches Group Leaders to schedule merchandise and how to staff the functional areas to meet or exceed budgeted production goals. Teaches teams how to schedule the flow of merchandise and how to staff the functional areas to meet or exceed budgeted productivity goals.
- Policy and Procedure - Participates in the development of operational policies and procedures that impact the pyramid. Takes the proactive stance on providing counseling and corrective action after partnering with GM and TRDM.


Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in the distribution environment; applicable management/supervisory experience or 6-24 months as a Group Leader
- Strong communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Prior experience in a team environment
