Summary Directs a region of branches that have management teams in place to deliver services to customers by providing branch management strategy, insight, and applying appropriate business models and directives within that area by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Directs a region of 6-10 branches that are engaged in providing commercial landscaping services to local and national commercial customers to include offices, retail spaces, public and private educational institutions, government facilities, etc. Manages daily operations by providing branch management teams with strategies and insights, and applying appropriate business models, in order to create sustained top and bottom line growth. Responsible for all results within the region by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. Develops, implements, and achieves region financial goals to include but not limited to revenue and margin growth, direct cost management, indirect cost controls, and branch and region operating profit. Consistently monitors budgeted versus actual metrics to provide direction and support to ensure financial and operational expectations are met. Evaluates and authorizes branch manager and region expenses and purchases to ensure cost effectiveness, necessity, and appropriateness of all purchases. Reviews all budget line items and investigates all avenues to exceed and improve branch's bottom line. Completes Monthly/Quarterly Operating Review to ensure proper branch procedures and goal attainment. Rolls out company initiative and new programs and monitors branches' adherence to new protocols/changes and existing policies, procedures, and company standards. Attends customer meetings where needed with top 25 customers in the region. Provides insight and advise on strategies for the development and implementation of enhancement sales. Reviews enhancement bids over certain thresholds to ensure proper/profitable bidding. Reviews and approves new maintenance contracts. Reviews customer accounts within the region to ensure profitability of portfolio in order to meet or exceed all key financial metrics. Partners with Region sales staff to support and maintain a positive and effective relationship between operation teams and supporting sales staff. Develops succession planning strategies with branch manager in branch to help develop branch manager bench strength and contingency plans. Establishes development plans with branch managers to ensure constant development and build region manager bench strength. Communicates company objectives, overall strategies, and "Visions" throughout the region to ensure a clear understanding of the company's direction and purpose. Reviews compliance reports and enforces company and governmental compliance requirements, engages in progressive discipline and corrective action with branch managers, and establishes overall expectations of behaviors within the area. Directs safety strategies in region to ensure proper safety guidelines and procedures are followed, safety meetings are taking place, and safety goals are attained. Develops plans and strategies within region for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees. Directs preparation of accounting records at the branch and region level. Recommends budgets to division management. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages 8 - 15 subordinate managers who supervise a total of 50 - 350 employees in Operations and Office Administration. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
