Summary:

Maintains strategic alliances with business unit leaders, subject matter experts, finance and operations to identify critical need for reengineering costing processes. Classifies labor, material and overhead costs, identifies objective cost drivers to compute the unit cost of product and/or services. Analyzes cost patterns to determine distribution of costs for defined production units. Collaborates with operations management to analyze the costing affects of production platform and product/serivce changes as well as new product development. Manages communication tools to record, maintain and periodically update documentation concerning each cost control project. Provides all constituents ready access to process documentation. Designs detailed audit results to inform pricing decisions, manufacturing process changes and new product development. Instructs and/or assigns work to cost analysts, cost clerks, accounting clerks and other employees engaged in cost or general accounting activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs cost assignment projects using objective drivers and clear information data sources
  • Ability to gain consensus, identify barriers to progress and meet time-lines
  • Gathers, analyzes and interprets a wide variety of manufacturing and administrative data.
  • Understands and utilizes statistical process control, statistical sampling and inference according to established method
  • Coordinates the design and implementation of data gathering systems, questionnaires, forms and databases.
  • Prepares reports, charts, graphs and presentations
  • Interprets and applies division policies and recommends changes in procedures. Plans and assigns personnel for projects or tasks. Reviews and evaluates personnel performance
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Analysis of product costs including material, labor, and overhead, associated variances and method to control and reduce costs
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously, manage multiple deadlines, and work under time constraints
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned
