Sodexo has a career opportunity available in Long Beach, CA for a Environmental Services\Custodial Manager I for Long Beach Memorial Medical Center ! Long Beach Memorial is a large Acute Care hospital along with a large Children's hospital located in the middle of the Los Angeles/Orange County metro ara. This facility is a Fast paced, union environment with multi languaged employees , located on 1.3 million square feet.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a Hospital environment. This role is vital to the success of a very high profile diverse account. This is a 1st shift position some weekend and holidays may be required. No Relocation.

This position will be responsible for customer and client interaction, custodial inspection measurements, on-going training, quality, safety, pest control and the implementation of best practices. It will also be responsible for infection control compliance, improved services, and timeliness of responses and validation of work quality. Manage and coordinate floor care team and project work.

Must have proven ability in:

Positive interaction with clients Follow up and communication Handling multiple priorities Working in a matrix organization Interaction with a diverse group - culturally and work groups - to ensure positive customer interaction Fluent in Spanish a plus Previous floor-care experience in a Hospital The "Hands-On" manager primarily handles day to day operational functions and ensures unit level, corporate, employee relations, safety, training, and unit operating systems compliance. Managing in a strong union environment is a plus but not a requirement.

Required: Good working knowledge of state & federal employment law; solid computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; good communication and presentation skills; detailed oriented, and well organized.

High energy for fast paced environment. Client engagement and patient satisfaction is essential for the success of this role. This is a day shift some weekends and Holidays will be required.

Position Summary

Supervises hourly staff providing custodial service to client. Responsible for work force planning, Quality Assurance training and administrative functions for designated area. Typically reports to General Manager or Operations Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
