General Summary:

Gap brand is committed to activation - that is, to regain brand health, drive more demand, create heightened momentum, and catapult beyond current perception. The role of the this Senior Manager will be to develop media plans that will reinvigorate the brand and help reposition the brand amongst our consumers.

The Senior Manager is the leader in the development of annual and seasonal media strategies for the US and Canada markets, and will support all Gap brands (Gap, GapKids, babyGap, GapFit, and GapBody. Reporting to the Director of Integrated Marketing, the candidate will work in concert with other marketing and cross-functional partners to deliver a comprehensive media plan that meets business objectives.

Senior Manager will also be a point of contact for internal partners, as well as outside agencies regarding media. Partner closely with Brand Engagement, Digital and Social Media teams for consistency of digital, experiential and media strategy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for planning, buying and overseeing plan that translates the brand’s marketing and advertising objectives into a well thought-out, strategic, cross-platform media campaign.
  • Establishes media objectives, strategies, and tactics for cross-channel media campaigns
  • Work with the larger NA marketing & Global Marketing teams to develop unique, innovative media plans that are consistent with approved strategies, KPIs, and budgets.
  • This position is an integrated role, and must work closely with the digital, experiential, and PR teams to deliver plans that consider all brand activities into one plan
  • Summarizes and presents view of media performance across a range of interconnected media/digital initiatives.
  • Responsible for delivery of consumer insight, market research, and strategy offering as well as leadership in the development of new media, partnership, music ideas.
  • Supports Director of Integrated Marketing Engagement on Media Strategy, Partnership and Branded Entertainment and in negotiations with entertainment and music partners and in building custom platforms.
  • Works in partnership with Digital and Social Media lead, and executes against cross-media platforms.


Qualification

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Must have experience with all Media, and strong knowledge regarding Digital Marketing platforms.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Marketing/Agency or in-house Media planning experience
  • Deep understanding of industry marketing, media, technologies; strong ability to apply analytics to assess real business value and logically develop an approach to global brand marketing.
  • Understanding of media consumption, efficiency, efficacy and ROI metrics.
  • Ability to combine media metrics and business data to analyze the relative efficiency of various digital channels.
  • Background in client relations, engagement management, and interactive media.
  • Experience in or familiarity with the creative design process, technology development methodologies, building of Web sites, and information delivery systems.
  • Bachelors degree required.
