Job Description

Acts as the 'Director of First Impression' for RediClinic patients and responsible for maintaining patient satisfactory throughout the patient visit. Coordinates and maintains patient flow and throughput in clinic. Performs limited clinical functions in order to aid the Clinician and expedite the patient's visit. This role reports to the Practice Manager and maintains a peer relationship with other RediClinic Patient Service Coordinators.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Serves as the first point of contact for patients and potential customers.

* Acknowledges each patient and potential customer in a timely, professional and positive manner and acts as patient coordinator throughout the patient's time in clinic.

* Performs patient registration in an efficient and accurate manner with an emphasis on ensuring patient's privacy.

* Keeps the patient up-to-date on his/her wait time expectation.

* Ensures the clinic is clean and orderly and presents a quality image to customers.

* Ensures each patient is treated with respect, dignity, and with a positive attitude.

* Identifies patient issues, resolve issues within scope, and escalate issues, when appropriate, to the Practice Manager.

* Understands and performs the patient registration process using the tools, policies, and procedures of RediClinic.

* Vaccine management (storage, handling and disposal).

* Available to work up to 40 hours a week. Works at least two weekends per month. (For PRN and Part-time associates, the amount of work is determined by Practice Manager.)

* Floats to other clinics, as needed.

* Measures and records patients' vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height

* Performs instant tests such as flu and strep tests (phlebotomy and vaccine administration, as applicable)

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

* This position requires minimum travel.

Experience / Requirements

Experience working as a medical assistant (or equivalent) and knowledge of basic medical assisting skills and techniques in a clinic environment -- preferred Prefer associate to have basic understanding of medical terminology and working knowledge of standard clinic policies and procedures Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with retail and medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community Ability to operate equipment including computer, centrifuge, cash register, blood pressure units, electric thermometers, osteoporosis screening unit, body fat unit and glucometers Understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA preferred Experience in marketing, sales and/or customer service highly desired

Education

High School Diploma is Required

Medical Assistant Diploma Preferred

CPR/AED Certification Required

TB/Hep B titers required
