Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant - Full-time / Part-time

Position: PER DIEM GNA POSITION SUMMARY: The Geriatric Nursing Assistant performs various resident care activities and related non-professional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents. All duties and tasks are delegated by and performed under the direction of a licensed nurse and may not exceed Standards of Practice as accorded by certification. As a certified GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant at Genesis Health Care, you will: *Handle and serve residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direction of a licensed nurse *Perform all duties in accordance with established methods, techniques and recognized standards *Assist licensed nurses in admitting, doing assessments, discharging, transferring and caring for the resident's personal belongings and assist the licensed nurse in performing resident treatments *Verify that all residents have wrist bands, bed and door tags *Perform ADLs *Participate in the formulation and follow through of the resident's nursing care plan *Use standard precaution when caring for all residents *Position residents in correct body alignment in and out of bed, and apply safety measures under the direction of a licensed nurse *Assist residents in and out of bed, in walking, and transport throughout the center via wheelchair, geri-chair or stretcher *Feed residents, assist all residents with their meals and provide in between meal nourishment as well as provide fresh ice and water to the resident's bedside *Complete record of resident's oral intake and output *Answer resident's call light or bell, deliver messages, administer bedpan and urinals, clean areas of spillage or accidents caused by the resident *Make both occuied and unoccupied beds *Collect and bag soiled linen and deliver to dirty linen area; if assigned, wash and dry items in domestic washer/dryer *Transfer resident's belongings and equipment as directed, and assist with post mortem care *Coordinate scheduling for residents requiring OT, PT and ST *Take and record weights, blood pressures, temperatues, pulse and respiration and give skin care treatments as permitted by state regulation *Apply simple clean dressing , slings, stockings and support bandages, under the direction of a licensed nurse, by state regulation *Provide direct care to the more eacutely ill residents *Obtain clean linen and supplies, clean utility rooms, kitchen areas and all other nursing areas, as assigned. Clean resident equipment and maintain clean resident conditions and report on resident status or family concerns to a licwensed nurse *Receive and escort visitors, collect charts, records and reports *Help to orient and mentor new nursing assistants *Put resident service first. Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individual's needs and rights *Perform other duties as deemed necessary AGN1

Qualifications:

Geriatric Nursing Assistant/GNA Requirements: MUST HAVE 6-12 Months CURRENT LTC EXPERIENCE AS A GNA *Currently licensed in the state where they are applying *Must have a current CPR *Must have a current proof of PPD *Must provide mandatory Flu Vaccine *Must be able to read, write and speak and understand the English Language *Must be authorized to work in the USA To APPLY: Apply on line @ www.Genesishcc.com ..
