A successful Sys Admin / Engineer will have:

  • 4 year college degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, Bachelor of Science preferred and 4+ years  of professional enterprise development experience, master’s degree is preferred
  • Management of Java (JVM) technologies – Tomcat, Software AG webMethods, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with AWS, Jenkins and other DevOps tools are all nice to haves
  • Knowledge of virtualization technology and methods (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of load balancing and VIP concepts; (F5)
  • Real world Linux experience with strong Linux command line skills

Primary responsibilities and skills include the following areas:

  • A strong desire to learn new things and continually improve yourself and your team with a “can do anything” mentality
  • Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, documentation, administration and architecture of critical UNIX based systems in AWS, VMWare vCloud and on physical servers
  • Working in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Taking your turn being on call – once every 6-8 weeks
