Position Summary:

The Scheduling Supervisor oversees the Appointment Scheduling process for all Inbound freight arriving at all Distribution Centers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage fluctuating workflow and personnel assignments
  • Effectively manage Scheduling personnel, adjusting for peak volumes, to stay within accepted SLAs
  • Partner with DC Operations to build manageable schedules that support achieving the company receipt plan
  • Engage with carriers to provide delivery solutions that support DC Operations
Process definition and documentation
  • Establish and re-enforce best practice procedures for Appointment Scheduling
  • Partner with Routing to ensure top level execution on high visibility vendors and expedited freight
  • Track special appointing initiatives such as Expedite PO Requests and VAS (value added services) Requests
  • Partner with DC Operations to include current and correct processing codes.
Reporting
  • Develop and monitor metrics and reporting for inbound aspects of the business / maintain departmental productivity metrics
  • Analyze issues with unscheduled POs and work to reduce occurrences
  • Track additional volume to existing appointments
Troubleshooting and resolving higher level issues with carriers, vendors,and internal partners
  • Monitor Inbound Carrier Performance
  • Monitor inbound delivery performance by carrier
  • Assist with empty trailer removal compliance by carrier
  • Assist with implementing IT enhancements to the inbound process
  • Develop exception processes to support the off-price model through our existing systems



Education and Qualifications:
  • Must have a results oriented track record of performance
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proven organizational practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems using priority based analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience:
  • Prefer Distribution/Supply Chain background
  • 4 Year degree OR 5 Years experience in a DC environment
