Taco Cabana is seeking Cold Prep team members! Maximize the guest experience by preparing all produce needed for cooking in the kitchen, service to the lines, and for the condiment table. Makes pico de gallo, salsa, and guacamole and ensure all products are dated and rotated so the oldest product is used first. May be assigned to work multiple stations throughout the shift.

Qualifications:

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and / or ability.

  • Must be 18 years or older (OSHA requirements).  
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a food preparation position preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent desired.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a food preparation position preferred.

Language Skills:

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have exceptional guest service skills.
  • Must be able to perceive and react to the needs of others.
  • Must be organized, flexible and able to deal with various personalities.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have the ability to lift and carry pots, pans, etc. up to 50 pounds in weight.
  • Must have the capacity to stay in one bodily position and location for a prolonged period of time, mobility to get to other stations within the restaurant, stretching, reaching, bending, walking & standing.
  • Must be able to listen attentively and communicate, both verbally in writing, with guests, supervisors and co-workers. Must be able to read and follow written instructions.
  • Maintains work station including cleaning hoods and greasing machines.
  • Prepares bulk quantities of cold prep items following menu and portioning guidelines.
  • Operates stick blender, tomato dicer and tomato wedger.
  • Washes dishes and utensils.
  • Prepares margaritas and stocks margarita machine.
  • Receives stock and rotates per guidelines.
  • Stocks front line stations & stocks ice for chilling hot food.
  • Removes kitchen trash.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of walk-in cooler.
  • Maintains sanitation and temperature standards in all product preparation following applicable Health Department Codes and Regulations.
  • Assists in the training of new hires.
  • Works within all company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Preserves and protects the best products in the industry.
  • Ensures Company standards are met or exceeded by operating a clean restaurant.
  • Operates a well maintained facility.
  • Ensures restaurant delivers orders accurately and consistently.
  • Compliant with Company attendance policy.
