Description

The Corporate Strategy team is focused on providing broad, strategic vision for Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPSG) and identifying and evaluating new growth initiatives. Working closely with the VP, Strategy, a cross functional leadership team, and with the support of the broader Strategy team, the Manager will help formulate the company’s strategic vision. She/He will drive problem solving and opportunity evaluation, including strategic and financial analysis and the creation of business plans for high potential opportunities. The role will be responsible for proactively monitoring changes in the external environment together with progress against internal goals to determine when to adjust vs. stay the course and sharpen execution.

The ideal candidate will bring 2 or more years of management consulting experience from a recognized organization. They will provide broad, strategic input into potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures to ensure maximum returns on invested capital and consistency with the overall business strategy. Blending strong internal capabilities with creative, external perspectives, the successful candidate will champion new initiatives that demonstrate breakthrough thinking. With direct access to senior executives, this individualwill lead highly visible projects that will have a significant impact on thedirection and performance of the company.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with senior leaders to help uncover and address strategic business opportunities
  • Conduct research and analyses to shape the overall strategic dialogue
  • Lead strategic projects ("special projects") and cross-functional teams in driving strategic efforts
  • Accountable for driving results, defining outcomes, and ensuring that the strategy is executed successfully to change business outcomes
  • Identify and define business questions and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analysis
  • Structure and define approach to new strategic problems
  • Conduct analyses (e.g., financial, strategic, operational, organizational)
  • Conduct research and interviews with in-house and external sources
  • Synthesize complex strategic problems into clear, actionable plans and ensure execution for success
  • Drive alignment among senior leaders
  • Drive corporate strategy development


CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Experience with a leading strategy consulting firm or experience in consumer goods or retail products strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, including strategic thinking, project leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills as well as ability to manage ambiguity
  • Demonstrate very strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Good oral and written communication skills - the ability to communicate at senior leadership levels with ability to quickly gain credibility
  • Outstanding collaboration skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across business lines to accomplish shared goals and manage expectations
  • High level of maturity


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Business, Finance, or other analytical field
  • 5 years’ experience in Finance, Strategy, Marketing, OR 2 years if in Management Consulting
  • 2 years’ experience applying "technical" skills in corporate strategy and business development, specifically with regards to analytical, financial, and valuation assessment skills
  • 2 years’ demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Excel modeling skills (ex. working with large datasets)
  • 2 years’ experience developing and delivering compelling MS PowerPoint presentations
