Responsibilities:

Position Summary: The succesful candidate will be a skilled carpenter and painter with experience in using various saws, paint sprayers, hanging of drywall (also patch and repair), concrete block work and sundry duties as related.

Essential Functions:

Must be able to be trained and acquire a general understanding of the functions of the department; carpentry, locks, painting, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc. Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks by trade, and other projects as assigned. Assists the maintenance supervisor with parts ordering and inventory control. Observes proper usage of safety and personal protective equipment when and where indicated according to task. Oversees general repair and upkeep of maintenance equipment. Informs the maintenance supervisor of equipment needs beyond the capability of staff to repair. Demonstrates the ability to use various equipment used to perform tasks. These may include but are not limited to lifts, electrical equipment, and ladders. Must be able to work off shift hours on an on-call basis when required or scheduled. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Requires a valid Driver's License. Must be at least 21 years of age. Requires manual dexterity and precision measurements. Work in a safe, skillful and timely manner. Understand and use proper safety procedures. Work continually in a variety of weather conditions. Move heavy objects over fifty pounds.
