Purpose for the Position:
To mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons of bar, following standard recipes and to promote food sales.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Serves wine draught, bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
- Collects money for drinks served.
- Orders and requisitions liquors and supplies.
- Places bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
- Washes glasses, bar and equipment.
- Stocks and replenishes glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit and guest supplies.
- May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
- May prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese and cold meats.
- Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
- Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
- Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Use arithmetic to total costs and make change.
- Talk with different kinds of people to find out what services they want and to give them information.
- Stand or walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods.
- Move fingers and hand easily and quickly to handle things like dishes, money and merchandise.
- Lift and carry things like heavy trays.
Physical Demands:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) and/or negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
