Aerotek is seeking a Quality Engineer to fulfill a permanent job with a Tier 1 supplier for Toyota located in Southern Indiana. This company offers a healthy work environment and reasonable hours.

This Quality Engineer will lead quality assurance and quality engineering activities, ensure adherence to customer requirements, support mass production problem-solving, and respond to customer concerns.

Responsibilities include:

- Work with quality management to determine root cause for defects and quality complaints

- Lead activities to obtain facts, perform root cause analysis, duplicate defects, and develop corrective actions for customer complaints

- Work with engineering, production, and other departments to implement corrective actions for customer complaints or internal concerns

- Assist with supplier quality assurance activities as necessary (identifying and establishing quality requirements for supplied product

- Ensure supplier PPAP documents are reviewed and approved, and auditing suppliers

- Participate in APQP activities, PFMEA development, and PPAP for new or existing products

- Lead and maintain focus on customer quality requirements

- Initiate timely communication with customers to ensure quality expectations are understood (voice of the customer is heard internally)

- Ensure completion of quality verification procedures and documentation per internal/customer requirements (including sample data sheets, Gage R&R studies, and capability studies)

Successful candidates will have the following credentials:

- B.S. in Engineering or Technical discipline preferred, or equivalent experience

- 3+ years of experience Quality Engineering - specifically within Tier 1 Automotive environment is highly preferred

- Thorough knowledge of APQP and PPAP activities

- Understand basic quality principles, blueprint reading principles, and experience using measuring equipment

- Must be willing to travel at least 20% of the time

- Ability to take direction and communicate with employees of all levels
