Sodexo currently has a job available for an Operations Manager 1 to join our healthcare Food Service team at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in the Commerce, Michigan. This position will have oversight of Sodexo operations

Job Responsibilities include:

Manages 38 employees Oversees food service production for patient meals, retail transactions plus executive dining and catering. Ensures that room service is running effectively and efficiently. Ensures that Sodexo policies, procedures and programs are implemented and being utilized effectively and efficiently at both hospital locations. Manages and controls food cost Responsible for growing relationships with key client contacts as well as collaborating and with the client and General Manager on achieving annual operational projects and goals. Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards at all levels.

Ideally, qualified candidates will have the following experience:

Experience running a room service patient feeding model. Ability to effectively communicate to multiple audiences. Ability to multitask and proven effectiveness in a healthcare environment. Strong understanding of forecasting, food cost management, purchasing, inventory and labor management concepts. Ability to successfully lead, and engage a team Ability to creatively and effectively problem solve and manage projects. Exceptional computer skills as well as exceptional organizational and customer services skills. Servsafe certified as well as working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits.

Position Summary

Assumes General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence in complex multi-functional accounts. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Responsible for financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
