Nursing House Supervisor - FT Days

The Nursing House Supervisor is responsible for the supervision & coordination of nursing activities on a hospital-wide level. Seen as an extension of the Chief Nursing Officer and departmental directors in their absence and is delegated the responsibility to act as nursing administration on-site during off shift/weekends, reporting to the hospital administrator on call.

The Nursing House Supervisor serves as a resource/facilitator for patient care and assumes responsibility for Patient Care Services/Nursing Administration duties when other hospital and Department Directors are not available. This person makes rounds on the patient care units and is available as needed for issues that benefit from management assistance and/or intervention. This position serves as a positive clinical and service role for staff, ensures appropriate patient placement, staffing allocation, provides oversight for clinical activities, and coordinates safe and appropriate patient care between all departments and disciplines. R esponds to emergency situations i.e. Rapid Response, Code Blue and Code Stroke; meets with physicians, patients and family members to discuss concerns or patient care as well as address and resolve issues as needed.

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN strongly preferred.

Licensure: Texas Registered Nurse license required.

Experience: 3-5 years of relative clinical experience in an acute care setting. Critical Care/Emergency Room experience strongly preferred. 2 years management experience preferred

Certification(s): BLS, ACLS required. Advanced certification preferred (PALS & NRP).
