Under general supervision of the Food Service Director or Manager, is responsible for short- order cooking duties and for the supplying of related food and paper items for the cafeteria. Assists others involved in food preparation, and generally assists with the efficient production and service of food. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Is responsible for setting up for meals. Ensures that all equipment functions properly and reports any problems to supervisor. 2. Working from verbal instructions or items ordered, cooks hamburgers, frankfurters, French fries, rolls, and all other items on the grill menu. 3. Ensures that areas and equipment are properly sanitized and that spills are cleaned up promptly from serving areas of the cafeteria. Is responsible for proper filtration and rotation of grease. Maintains all necessary related statistics or reports. Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly fashion. Observes all town and state health codes, and follows prescribed cleaning and sanitation procedures. 4. Ensures all adequate supplies of related paper goods, foodstuffs, and utensils. Reports any daily food shortages to Manager. Orders and maintains inventory of necessary supplies. 5. Reports customer complaints and comments and/or any unusual problems or conditions to the Food Service Director.
