Responsibilities

The position will be responsible for selling into Small to Medium Business accounts (SMB) in partnership with the retail and indirect sales teams including consistent collaboration with the B2B team. The position will report directly to the Manager of SMB and will focus their time generating new business in the SMB market segment (0-49 employees). SMB Specialist will spend the majority of their time side by side selling, prospecting, cold calling, networking and generating leads/referrals. The candidate will need to have a track record of being able to close business deals, effectively forecast and manage a 30/60/90 day sales funnel. They will need to be flexible with their schedule and time as business dictates. Additional responsibilities include:

 

Training sales reps and agents on new products, services and selling skills to ensure they are fully versed on Verizon Wireless SMB products/services and ready to represent Verizon Wireless in the highest professional manner. 

Partnering with each location to represent the company at trade association meetings to promote Verizon Wireless and increase our presence in the community by developing relationships through chambers of commerce and grassroots efforts.

 

Planning, organizing and presenting at SMB Workshops with a focus on vertical solutions and the Verizon Partner Program.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a track record of sales success with retail, indirect or B2B. Extensive knowledge of Verizon products and services. Demonstrated success generating small business leads. Demonstrated cold calling ability.

 

Individual Contributor Role:

Prospects daily for new logo opportunities. Sells side-by-side with retail solution specialist to drive pull thru activations and train on SMB sales strategies. Partner with the business sales teams on leads that were submitted and co-support opportunities on key accounts.

 

Functional Accountability:

Responsible for supervision of multiple store locations, specifically their SMB sales. Daily execution on marketing campaigns, partnership with the local chamber of commerce and other business organizations, and strategic business planning will be required of the candidate.

 

Decision Making Authority:

Receive general guidance for the accomplishment of short to medium term goals and operating objectives. Plans and executes own work. Exert significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. 

 

Work Complexity:

Provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems.  Demonstrate good judgment in presenting products & solutions to meet the customers needs.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Requires - a range of skills within a professional discipline including familiarity with principles, theories, concepts and technologies related to the Small Business Segment as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices for business sales.

 

Education & Experience:

Possess Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.  Generally requires minimum of 4 yrs experience in same or related discipline
