Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Transport Assistant Manager and/or Lead Patient Transporter receives patient assignments and delivers direct patient care, relative to patient transport. Anticipates and prioritizes patient transport needs and carries out transport as assigned. Utilizes emergency skills required for delivery of safe and appropriate care. Assists the Lead/Assistant Manager in the operation of the Transport Department, and provides technical expertise as related to patient transport.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must demonstrate excellent written/verbal interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.
Demonstrates positive interpersonal communication skills in person and via telephone.
Must complete and pass the hospital HeartSaver BLS w/ AED course within six months of employment.
Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must have initiative to work efficiently without constant supervision or direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
California E.M.T. certification.
Prior emergency or critical care experience.
