Our associates are an integral part of bringing the magic of Macy's to life and they perform a number of functions that are critical to offering our customers the best experience when they shop in our store. The two Seasonal Retail Stock Associate roles are Seasonal Retail Stock Receiving and Seasonal Retail Stock Merchandising. While all Macy's positions require working as part of a team to meet department and store objectives as well as deliver outstanding customer service, individual responsibilities will vary depending on position.



In order to present our customers with a magical shopping experience, our associates may be scheduled to arrive prior to store opening or as late as 8 PMto remain after store closing. All seasonal associates may be required to work hours other than those stated in the job posting title or job overview, on weekends, and/or during key holiday events, such as the Friday after Thanksgiving. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

Essential Functions Seasonal Retail Stock Receiving:
  • Complete all processing and receiving activities in accordance with productivity standards/timelines
  • Responsible for customer carry-outs and special deliveries
  • Participate in stockroom maintenance, organization and housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality


Essential Functions Seasonal Retail Stock Merchandising:
  • Assist customers in all aspects of service fulfillment by demonstrating proficient use of proprietary devices and applications; proactively create enhanced shopping experiences through heightened use of tools, technology and collaboration
  • Process merchandise to floor-ready standards and assist the Merchandise Team Lead with the placement of merchandise on the sales floor
  • Place product to appeal to customer preference; maintain high customer-readiness standards by delivering a clean, neat and easy to shop store environment
  • Communicate issues to Manager and or Merchandise Team Lead
  • Process damages, transfers and return to vendor merchandise
  • Performother duties as assigned
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Qualifications:
Education/Experience
  • High School Degree or equivalent


Communication Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management


Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as complete tasks independent of direct supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and learn new procedures


Physical Demands
  • Involves constant moving and standing; requires ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours.
  • May occasionally involve reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
  • May have to reach above eye level
  • Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Involves lifting at least 30 lbs
