Server/bartender/box office attendant/food runner/door person/line cook - Part-time

The Funny Bone is a friendly, fast paced, 325 seat comedy club that hosts 6-8 shows every week. Funny Bone Comedy Club & Restaurant, the premier name in "Live" Stand-Up Comedy Venues will be opening its doors towards the end of August 2015. We are an award winning comedy club that features America's top comedians. We have a full kitchen, service bar with great food and drinks, plenty of loyal regulars, and a large, diverse crowd.

JOB OPENINGS AND DESCRIPTIONS:
SERVER -- As a server you will be scheduled 2 to 5 nights totaling 5-7 hours. Shifts are between Wednesday and Sunday. Currently we are looking for someone who is available Friday, Saturday and 2-3 weekday nights. We are also looking for one fill in person who can work one weekend night and 1-2 weekday nights. 1 year minimum experience in a fast pace nightclub and/or restaurant is required. Experience using a POS touchscreen system required. Our servers make excellent money, so we expect the best of the best to wait on our customers.
KITCHEN MANAGER -- The kitchen manager must have excellent leadership and training skills and be fully accountable for maintaining and developing the kitchen staff to provide the ultimate guest and employee experience to the highest level of food quality possible. The kitchen manager is responsible to ensure all company standards and applicable regulations for food quality, presentation, safety, sanitation requirements and employee relations and guidance are not only met but also exceeded.
BOX OFFICE -- Marketing / Ticket Sales

Albany Funny Bone @ Crossgates Mall has openings for the perfect candidate with great customer service and phone skills to help us build our clientele and promotional party-planning department. THIS IS A SALES JOB.
Duties for this position also include evening hours as a box office cashier where professional and personal interactions with our customers is required.

BARTENDER -- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the same location. The candidate needs the ability to perform assigned duties in an interruptive environment under frequent time pressure.
Functions include preparing drinks quickly using standard recipes and procedures for specialty drinks, cocktails, wine and bottled beer. Keep track of orders, liquors and supplies. Prepare garnishments for drinks, set-up bar arrangement. You must be able to maintain the bar and area in a clean and orderly fashion. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Experience in a fast paced nightclub/restaurant would be helpful.
We ask that you have Knowledge in mixology, drink abbreviations and the laws governing the serving of alcohol and the ability to handle situations that may arise due to intoxication. The ability to follow simple instructions, memos and letters is a must. Experience using a POS touchscreen bar system required.
DRINK/FOOD RUNNER -- This is a great entry-level position in the hospitality field. You will work alongside an excellent Chef and learn. Your job is to make sure the plates and drinks get to the tables in a fast and orderly fashion. Learning the drink and food menu, table numbers and other procedures will be necessary. Duties include but are not limited to assisting in the basic prep of the kitchen and showroom. Assist in the turning tables in between shows, clearing dishes to the kitchen. Some dishwashing may also be required on certain nights. We are looking for someone who is available 2-5 nights per week.
HOST/DOOR PERSON -- As a host, you will be scheduled 2-4 evenings a week from Wed-Sunday. This is a customer service representative position. Hosts are the eyes and ears of the comedy showroom. Duties include, but not limited to Checking ID's, greeting customers, seating, some crowd control to ensuring the safety of the club and its patrons. Additional duties will be throwing out trash, mopping, etc. The knowledge of audio/video equipment is a plus. We aren't the kind of place that has too many problems, so we're not looking specifically for bouncer types. However, you should be cool under pressure and feel comfortable with those aspects of the job in the situations that call for it. People skills and general customer service experience strongly recommended.
LINE COOK --As a line cook, you will be an important part of every meal we serve and each guest's experience in our restaurant. We take great pride in our quality food and clean, efficient kitchen. Shifts will be between Wednesday and Sunday. At least 1 year of previous experience is required. A good Line Cook must work quickly and efficiently so that our speed of service objectives are met while preparing food that meets our high standards of quality and plate presentation. A good Line Cook must be able to think quickly on his/her feet with multiple activities going on at once. A good Line Cook doesn't get flustered easily and even enjoys the challenge of an extra busy shift.
