Research Associate needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Woodland, CA

    - Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific journal articles, technical procedures, government regulations, and seed testing procedures Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
    - Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific journal articles, technical procedures, government regulations, and seed testing procedures
    - Excellent communications skills including the capability to clearly present information through oral or written communications.
    - Ability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of relevant issues

What You'll Be Doing:



    - Account management of existing customers - own the relationship with buyers
    - Identify research opportunities based on business need and literature review focusing on improvement, development, or automation of seed health assays for the detection of seed-borne pathogens.
    - Develop project proposals, including cost estimates and financial justifications.
    - Design and execute experiments in an efficient manner to execute research in a timely fashion to meet project deadlines.
    - Assure research is conducted, analyzed, and concluded using sound scientific principles.
    - Assure research activities are conducted with the goal of practical implementation in Seed Health testing labs worldwide.
    - Report experimental results both internally and externally in formal reports, presentations, and posters.
    - Initiate and manage internal and external research collaborations to create and validate new technologies.
    - Assist the Seed Health testing group with routine protocol troubleshooting.
    - Adhere to all safety and stewardship policies.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:



    - D in Plant Pathology with 0-2 years of experience or MS in Plant Pathology with 3+ years of experience
    - Should have experience in the development of molecular assays for pathogen detection.
    - Must have a proven track record of research success from project ideation through implementation.


Bonus Points!



    - A working knowledge of Seed Health or Seed Quality Assurance testing methods is desirable.
    - Must be able to withstand the variable temperatures and conditions one is exposed to in a seed lab environment
