The Community Investment team oversees all strategic philanthropy for the company, focusing on STEM education through our Connect A Million Minds initiative, as well as local charity partnerships that strengthen the position of TWC in the marketplace. The goal of the Community Investment team is to raise impact, both in the communities we serve and in the company profile, through strategic partnerships, and by leveraging our internal assets. The NYC area consists of greater New York, Mt. Vernon, and smaller markets in northern New Jersey. The position reports to the Director, Community Investment and has no direct reports.

POSITION SUMMARY: The position is responsible for supporting and implementing community investment efforts in the NYC area, working closely with leadership teams and external partners to meet business objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Implement and execute comprehensive community investment strategies. In some cases, this will be specific to the geographic region; in others it may be as a subject matter expertCollaborate with community based organizations and programs that align with TWC’s national philanthropic strategy and brand, ensuring maximum positive exposure for the company as an innovator and technology leaderResearch and evaluate potential community partners and programs through grant requests as well as identifying/recruiting new partners to meet team objectivesAssist in developing and executing programs that meet One TWC objectives of greater consistency and visibility by leveraging economies of scale. Partner with CI team members across the country to leverage best practices and execute national initiativesSpearhead engagement and alignment with Mission & Values, both within the CI team and within the company overallCollaborate with Events team, as well as Business Class and Media Sales CI team, to execute local programsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key community leaders and business partners to meet the company’s philanthropic goals for Connect a Million Minds, Diversity and Inclusion, and other focus areas including Go Green, Online Safety and Digital Literacy, and Disaster Preparedness.Leverage and promote TWC assets for maximum local effect, including PSAs, local programming, volunteerism, and in-kind givingSupport opportunities for employee volunteerism, and customer/employee awareness/involvement of community investment programsRepresent TWC at business functions and special events, as needed. Act as company spokesperson when necessaryParticipate in GIFTS database, conducting analysis as needed to maximize resultsProvide social media support for community investment programsManage program budgets and invoice payments, ensuring fiscal responsibilityOther duties as assigned to support the CI team, including but not limited to recap and report preparation, and general administrative work
JOB REQUIREMENTS:Minimum two years community relations experience, preferably in a corporate or non-profit environmentBachelor’s degree in Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility or related fieldExcellent organizational, leadership, team-building, collaborative and strategic planning skillsSuperior written and oral communications skills, including public speaking, networking and business writing experienceAbility to develop and implement successful projects, work under pressure and meet deadlines, and connect community efforts to business initiativesCommunity relations experience within the NYC market preferred, with emphasis on understanding diverse demographicsExcellent computer (MS Office Suite) and budget management skillsExcellent Social Media skills ( Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)Ability to travel in marketBi-lingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Yes, Travel – Local travel required, occasional national travel possible, Valid Driver’s License preferred
