Chemist Job - Full-time / Part-time

Chemist needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in West Sacramento, CA.

The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:

- Three (3) or more years of analytical chemistry experience required
- On Hand experience with HPLC instrumentation and routine HPLC chemical assays is required.
- Experience with HPLC/MS instruments is highly desirable.

What You'll Be Doing:

- We are seeking to fill a temporary position within our Analytical Chemistry group.
- The R&D specialist will be responsible for executing analytical assays and data management.
- Perform all aspects of high throughput HPLC assays following approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Perform routine assays to characterize the chemical nature (HPLC-MS) of Agricultural products.
- Manage internal customer expectations with daily interactions (verbal and written) with colleagues from groups external to chemistry.
- Analyze data and input results in a LIMS system.
- Troubleshooting HPLC systems and robotics equipment.
- Manage the review and documentation process for the assigned assays.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Be compliant with company policies in all areas of activity.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- General chemistry concepts
- Basic mathematics principles
- Microsoft 2010 suite of programs including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and time-management skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Practical experience with HPLC troubleshooting
- Preparation of solvents o Serial dilutions
- Working with general lab equipment
- Flexible and quick to learn new concepts
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures
- Solve practical problems
- Multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Organize, prioritize and follow-up on work assignments
