Requirements
Morrison Management Specialists, a member of Compass Group, seeks a full- time Custodian. The position is available at The Peninsula Regent, a senior community that offers elegant condominium living with all the amenities of a fine resort located in downtown San Mateo. The Custodian, under general supervision, cleans assigned areas, including resident apartments, clinics, restrooms and administrative offices; and performs related duties as required.
Custodian Duties include but are not limited to:
- Covers all floors and apartments assigned to cleaning and ensures that The Peninsula Regents cleanliness standards are maintained in all areas of responsibility
- Maintains the general upkeep of common areas and of all floors
- Recognizes and reports all missing, damaged or sub-standard furniture, fixtures and equipment
- Is responsible for shampooing, buffing and spot cleaning, interior window and mirror cleaning and high dusting
- Maintains the cleanliness of foyers and corridors by performing, vacuuming, dusting of crown molding, millwork, baseboards and cleaning of all light fixtures including ceiling fixtures
- Performs general cleaning as scheduled
- Keeps emergency stairwells and service landings in order and removes garbage
- Is responsible of laundry pick-up, delivery of packages and any other requests
- Cleans assigned apartments and restrooms
- Assists in Spring Cleaning of apartments and common areas
- Maintains vacuum cleaners and other equipment by cleaning up, changing bags and belts regularly
-Frequent moving, lifting and carrying of objects and requires wide range of constant physical actives.
Positions requirements:
Skills to demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills; possess good verbal and written skills in English for effective communication with residents, be multi-task oriented.
Knowledge of various cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in housekeeping work; of proper procedures for disposing of waste and of chemical product safety. Working knowledge of materials and techniques used in household cleaning.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English; to work quickly and efficiently without invading residents' or guests' privacy; interact with guests in a professional /helpful manner; follow safety precautions and procedures; plan and complete assigned duties within allotted time frames; and work independently and well with others. Ability to read and interpret English in order to understand labels on chemicals and supplies. Available to work Monday-Friday 12:30pm-9pm, including weekends and holidays.
Other Requirements: Must be able to obtain a Criminal Clearance
