The men's buying team is looking for an assistant buyer to help facilitate growth and drive sales results within our department. We are looking for someone who is creative, motivated, and has the ability to problem solve through critical thinking. Expect a lean, fast paced, results oriented work environment where you'll be expected to do more and take on more. As a member of the buying team you should have a passion for product and be nerdy for numbers.

Responsibilities:

-Maximize sales results, margins and inventory for all managed categories

-Analyze weekly sales results and create action plans to support them

-Manage store product levels and distribution of product

-Manage gross margins and product levels

-Identify new categories and brands to further differentiate Zumiez from its competitors

-Build and maintain relationships with vendors to optimize product assortment and strategize exclusive offerings, terms, pricing, etc.

-Work cross-departmentally with store operations, merchandising and marketing to drive the business

Requirements:

-Previous retail buying experience desired

-Retail management experience preferred

-A good understanding of products carried by Zumiez

-Strong understanding of business/retail math required

-A thorough understanding of Zumiez target customer

-Minimum of 2 years of college AA or BA preferred

-Ability to communicate, motivate and multi task

-Ability to work for a broad group of people

-Willingness to take on new challenges, learn new skills and produce results
