POSITION PURPOSE: 
Respond to inbound phone calls for HomeDepot.com by capturing sales and resolving customer issues. 

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Provide superior customer service while taking inbound calls for order placement and product inquiry 
  • Help customers resolve post-order issues such as returns 
  • Research and clearly communicate product information 
  • Answer inquiries while accurately maintaining and updating the customer database 
  • Convey a sense of urgency while responding to customer needs 
  • Use policies as a guide to reach the best solution when assisting customers 
  • Accurate and efficient data entry 
  • Ask probing questions and overcome objections 
  • Maintain customer-centric attitude at all times 
  • Additional tasks and projects as assigned 

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Five days per week including one or two weekend day every week 
  • Hours will range between 6:00 AM and 2:00 AM

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be eighteen years of age 
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent 
  • Must pass the pre-employment Drug Test 
  • Must pass the pre-employment Background Check 
  • Must pass pre-employment tests, if applicable

  • Pleasant and professional telephone etiquette 
  • Customer First attitude 
  • Take charge attitude; enjoys the challenges that a customer service job can present

  • Problem-solving and strong analytical abilities 
  • Excellent judgment and decision making skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills 
  • Strong computer and computer software knowledge, skills and abilities 
  • Basic typing skills (30 wpm) 
  • Regular and punctual attendance 

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
  • 1 year customer service experience in an inbound call center environment 
  • 35+ wpm typing skills 
  • Experience, hobbies or training in the home improvement industry 
  • Experience in retail or inside sales
