Maintenance Mechanic

LOCATION: Hillsboro, OR

SALARY: $16-$18 hour DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION: Our client is seeking talented maintenance mechanics to join their team. This is a temp to hire position. The successful candidate will perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure that machines and rolling stock run smoothly and the building systems operate efficiently. This person must have basic combustion engine knowledge of troubleshooting and installing alternators, starter lights, ignition systems, timing, brake systems and fuel systems. Inspect, operate or test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them. Assemble, install or perform low voltage wiring of pipe systems, plumbing, machinery or equipment. Inspect drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions by following checklists. Welding, basic metal fabrication and bsic hydraulic and basic heavy equipment repair. This person needs to be able to work overtime and perform “on call” responsibilities to accommodate schedule changes. We have one full time position located in Hillsboro and we have one full time "rover" positon that will need to be able to travel to 4 different locations when needed - Hillsboro, Beaverton, SE and NE facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: 2+ years trouble shooting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing plant manufacturing equipment or school equivalent. Use logic and reasoning to identify and strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Possess basic electrical knowledge. Must be able to work in elevated surfaces or confined spaces. Possess strong customer service skills. Effective verbal and written communication. Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Drug testing and background check may be required for this position.
