A successful Operations Research Analyst will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university - Mathematics, Finance, Economics, and/or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Proficient use of MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; SQL and VBA helpful
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, is results oriented and works well with deadlines
  • Strong desire to independently identify and execute upon operations research opportunities
  • Objective and orderly mindset when analyzing complex problems, with the flexibility to adapt quickly in a dynamic business environment
  • Aptitude to work as an autonomous contributor, as a member of a larger analytical team, and as part of a cross-functional team spanning departments
  • Ability to communicate findings to many difference audiences, suggest innovative business solutions, and develop real-time fixes to customer impacting issues. 

As an Operations Research Analyst, you will use scientific methodology to provide advice and insight about the probable effects of a recommended course of action. This work requires the design, development, and adaption of mathematical, statistical, and econometric techniques.

 

Primary duties will include:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the processes and data used in our operations division and identify opportunities for improvement in current processes with a focus on increasing productivity, lowering fixed and variable costs, and improving customer experience
  • Perform a broad range of operations research analysis (quantitative and qualitative) requiring unique, creative, innovative uses of techniques, advanced approaches, and/or new technologies
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the department’s key metrics and data while designing insightful reporting to help drive improvement in these metrics
  • Collect, report on, model, analyze, and present large amounts of data with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicate analyses and recommend a course of action to high level stake holders across the organization and executive team.
