Providence is calling a Healthcare Business Intelligence Analyst- Level 3 to Providence Health & Services in Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Healthcare Business Intelligence Analyst- Level 3 to be responsible for leading the development of reporting and analytics solutions for the Providence organization by gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, developing reports and analyses, and delivering them to customers. This position is also responsible for interpreting the data in the reports and analyses developed to help to customers in gaining insight about their areas of accountability and in making strategic decisions. This role is responsible for mentoring other analysts in the department to help them develop efficient ways of creating reporting and analytics solutions. This role works with a diverse set of stakeholders and is responsible for leading large reporting and analytics projects across multiple regions or stakeholder groups. This position may be responsible for the development and implementation of semantic data layer objects, such as Business Objects Universes, data marts, and custom database objects, to support reporting and analytics solutions for the Providence organization. Additionally, this position may also be responsible for the creation of presentation layer objects like interactive reports and dashboards.

In this position you will:

Analyze information in the reports developed to identify issues, trends, or interesting findings to be shared with the business customer.

Help the business customer to interpret and understand data in reports and how to apply them in improving patient care.

Provide project management support for large-size reporting projects.

Participate in creating, monitoring, and executing standards for reporting practices. (i.e. template development, peer review, SDLC guidance).

Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills sufficient for meeting with customers to understand business needs for reporting and analysis requests, documenting requirements, and communicating progress.

Identify data sources and the appropriate data fields to use for reporting and analytic needs.

Develop and implement data/technical architecture and relevant Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using tools such as Oracle, Business Objects, Toad, SQL Developer, Tableau, and other tool across regions.

Create Business Objects Universes and/or custom database objects required to build the underlying semantic layer for fulfilling business needs.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Public Health, Business Management, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

5 years of successful and increasingly responsible experience in a healthcare business intelligence setting or related field. An appropriate combination of education, skills, and experience, can be substituted for total years.

Key experience highlights include strong knowledge of business intelligence tools and techniques, relational databases, strong knowledge of automated reporting tools, high level of experience with SQL and Epic EMR.

Strong proficiency in all aspects of design, development and testing and best practices of Enterprise application and/or reporting implementations.

Strong proficiency in the design, development and/or maintenance of reporting systems and databases.

Knowledge of client/server and host-based systems.

Strong knowledge of analytical tools and techniques to investigate data trends, issues, and to draw conclusions from data.

Knowledge of database structures, data definitions, and data relationships.

In-depth knowledge and application of industry standard report writing tools, such as: Excel, SQL, Crystal Reports, etc.

Knowledge of industry standard Business Intelligence (BI) solution tools, such as: Oracle, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.

Proficient in all aspects of design, development and testing and best practices of Enterprise relational databases such as Oracle, SQL, Access.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Public Health, Business Management, Information Services, or a similar area.

Clarity data model experience.

Clinical, financial or operational experience
