Providence is calling an Assistant Manager to the Dietary Services Department at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK.

The Assistant Manager of Dietary Services will be responsible for assisting the Registered Dietician/Nutrition Services Manager with planning, coordinating and supervising the activities of the Dietary Department in accordance with Providence philosophy, objectives, policies, procedures and standards. They will work to foster change and teamwork.

In this position you will:

Understand the needs of the customer and prioritize work assignments and team efforts towards meeting those needs.

Build trust, develop, coach, and train staff to work as a team.

Ensure an effective purchasing process is maintained.

Routinely review the performance of nutrition services staff against key indicators and take action when necessary to improve outcomes.

Plan and implement formal and informal staff in-service sessions in a manner which provides learning and education opportunities for staff members.

Monitor nutrition services staff to assure food safety and sanitation procedures including the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles are followed correctly.

Required qualifications for this position include:

High School diploma or equivalent

Certification in food safety and sanitation required within ninety (90) days of date of hire

Three (3) years of experience in food services

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Two (2) years of college in Food and Nutrition

One (1) year of supervisory experience

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical care access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room and 2 ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC's long term care facility, has 22 beds.

PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
