Bilingual Collector

Compensation:

  • Base hourly rate of $13-14/hour plus uncapped commission
  • Uncapped commission/bonus structure: If you hit 100% of goal, you earn $300. It goes up every 10% after 100% by $75 until 130%. Afterwards, they earn 4% of every dollar.
  • Typical monthly bonuses range from $1k - $5k

Job Description:

  • 90% of the day will be outbound phone calls to "clients" in order to resolve debt concerns
  • Majority of the calls are manual; some on automated dialer (depends on the workload)
  • Follow up on payments (pull up whether or not payments from previous day were posted)
  • Send out letters to collect
  • Organize schedule of who to call
  • Process payments
  • Perform data entry and update notes on accounts
  • Calculate payment arrangements

Work Environment:This is a business casual environment. They encourage a fun environment by having different contests and competitions. Collection team has approximately 50 People.

Shifts:

Option 1:

  • 3 days a week 8am-4:45; 2 days a week noon - 8:45; every other Saturdays is 8am- noon.
  • Fridays are always first shift and on the week they work Saturdays they will get 4 hours of flex time

Qualifications:

  • MUST be bilingual (100 percent fluent in Spanish)
  • Customer service, sales, or collections background
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Money motivated
  • Refined, professional, and friendly phone voice
  • Handles rejection well (doesn't internalize it); has experience in a high rejection occupation or can provide specific examples of repetitive rejection
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
  • Ability to sell someone on the phone

Performance Expectations:

  • Training: 2 weeks of classroom training on the software, foundation of collection and phone laws, negotiation tactics, etc. They will then shadow with various leaders to see different styles.
  • Evaluated by: Each collector is given a goal of money to collect on . They do get a ramp up period where they need to hit 40% of goal first month, 60% of second month, 80% by third month, and by the 4th month they should be at 100%. They will also be evaluated based on attendance, call volume (120 calls at least per day), files worked (100 files per day) and quality monitoring (whether or not they are following the script)
  • Best vs. Average: The best candidates are money motivated to earn the bonuses. They aren't there for the hourly pay, they strive for the commission and see it as an opportunity for growth. They also have a strong and confident phone presence and an ability to control the situation on the phone. They feel like they are doing a service to the person and are prideful in the job.
  • Attendance policy: If late 3x within 90 days they will receive corrective action. If last 5x within 6 months they will be given more corrective action, leading to termination.
