The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of assigned internal communications initiatives for the Payment Integrity team. Primary responsibility will be to proactively manage assigned aspects of internal communications with employees and contractors around the world in partnership with Corporate Communications managers, executive leaders, business unit leaders, product and development teams and Human Capital.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Manages internal communications for Payment Integrity team. Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans for internal communications initiatives that are aligned with overall communications efforts. Works with management and HR Capital to evaluate ongoing and long-term opportunities for communications to employees regarding the Payment Integrity team's business plans. Seeks out and promotes new avenues for internal communications efforts
Manages the process of gathering content, writing, editing and securing approval for assigned internal communications including memos, intranet, presentations, etc
Directs the internal communications materials per established guidelines. Collaborates with Corporate Communications to ensure messages are aligned and accurate.  Confirms technical content with operational areas and ensures timeliness and accuracy of all information available to stakeholders
Drives key internal communications activities for Payment Integrity including Our United Culture communication guides , Town Hall meetings, Technical communications, deployment alerts, employee giving, innovation and customer focus awards and volunteerism
Assists with the Payment Integrity intranet and works closely with key constituents to ensure information is accurate and timely in order to meet the needs of employees. Manage the editorial calendar for the intranet
Collaborates with business leaders to respond accurately to questions and directs written response and distribution method
Proactively builds effective relationships and positive communication with business leaders to ensure readiness to respond to urgent internal communications requests
Champions Payment Integrity brand standards in all internal communications. Adheres to Associated Press Style Stylebook. Understands business dynamics, cycles, products and marketing initiatives and helps identify, prioritize and execute communications that ensure adherence to the brand
Collaborates with UnitedHealth Technology resources to help communicate technical outages and issue resolution
Develops and manages budgets for internal communications projects
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of internal communications and project management experience within a matrix organization
5+ years of professional writing and editing experience
5+ years of experience with intranets and social media (i.e., blogs, pod casting, etc.)
5+ years experience working with full suite of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
5+ years experience in translating technical and scientific information into layman's terms
5+ years experience building relationships with internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
