Director, Project Office and Operations supports the department of Strategic Implementations and Operational Support by providing professional assistance, project, change and business management support across a broad range of activities. It requires a high level, but functional, understanding of the organization from a business and IT perspective, along with an understanding of UHG, M&R, C&S, UHN, UCS & UHC. The position may from time to time be charged with leading and/or facilitating Steering Committee's, Joint Operating Committee's, cross company leadership meetings, and executive level strategy initiatives. The person filling this role will be an effective communicator with excellent collaboration skills at all levels of the organization and will be able to set up enterprise program management initiatives.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Assists in the development of organizational objectives and short and long term goals
Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
Solves complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysis
Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program/project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
Has the flexibility to apply various methods of business management methodologies to implement strategies
Works through issues and roadblocks with internal and external stakeholders to reach amicable solutions that balance the needs of all parties while ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable standards and regulations (e.g., SOX, security, HIPAA)
Acts as a critical link between people, ideas and information at all stages in the project life cycle
Demonstrate understanding of the underlying drivers of the business (e.g., Key Performance Indicators [KPIs], business processes)
Partners with departmental leadership and staff to identify/define performance planning/measures, tracking and reporting objectives
Leads and guides functional and segment teams through project implementation with competing agendas and priorities
Collaborate cross departmentally to manage risk forecasting/mitigation, project progress and issue resolution efforts
Liaison between internal and external teams to help steer work stream communications to ensure response integrity
Maintain project and process knowledge bank to support best practice identification and implementation
Develop performance, project status, meeting correspondence and ad hoc reports for consumption by various levels of management
Establish and/or implement internal and/or external service level agreements in order to ensure ability to monitor and measure program performance (e.g., turnaround time; quality; effectiveness)
Directs efforts of Strategic Deployment & Special Projects Team and manages day to day work team efforts
Provides timely, accurate and concise communication to the customer and cross functional groups. Understands how to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully
Effectively communicates relevant Project information to leadership
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a related field required (4+ years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree)
Certified Formal training in PMP and/or Six Sigma
4+ years of prior supervisory experience
5+ years of decision support, data analysis, or healthcare operations experience
Proven ability to successfully conceptualize an initiative, develop a plan and execute the plan through implementation
Ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of executive management
Possession of strong analytical/statistical skills used in evaluating and analyzing data
Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in Health Administration, Finance, Public Health or Business Administration
Certification and/or training in a nationally recognized Change Management Methodology
