We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Production Supervisor.
Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Contract to hire
Under the direction of the Plant Manager or Shift Supervisor, this position is accountable for supervising, scheduling and leading a group of union employees to meet departmental goals including but not limited to:
* Leading safety initiatives.
* Monitoring performance against goals and implementing corrective actions to meet goals.
* Identifying and Implementing improvement plans.
* Solving problems to the root to prevent a recurrence.
* Effectively communicating with others within and outside the work group.
* Managing labor relations and conflict issues within the work group.
* Maintaining visual systems within area of accountability.
* Leading small group problem solving activities utilizing resources available.
* Providing leadership and direction, and motivation to people in assigned area.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED & 3-5 years industry experience OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy or Business
- 3-5 years of Industrial manufacturing in the areas of blending aluminum alloys, working with molten aluminum, and a working knowledge of direct gas fired furnaces.
- 3 years of demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge and experience in applying lean manufacturing
- Ability to establish sound priorities and objectives and be able to function in a high pressure work environment characterized by constant change.
- Must be self-motivated, able to motivate others, able to set direction and expectations and follow-up to ensure success
- Knowledge and experience in applying lean manufacturing/Alcoa Business Systems.
- Previous supervisory/management experience in a unionized environment
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office package and proficiency in Oracle desired
