POSITION PURPOSE

We are seeking world-class talent looking to build a career with the world’s largest home improvement retailer. As a QA Manager you will build, lead and drive Quality Assurance within Homedepot.com. You will develop and execute software test plans across various software applications. You will manage test strategies, testing standards, testing procedures, test approaches and define how to ensure overall assurance meets delivery expectations. When suitable apply process improvements and build upon the team’s ability to deliver work and ensure that delivery is fit for use by our customers. With a focus on quality and speed you will bring knowledge of current automation trends and practices. In applying your knowledge you will grow system virtualization, headless automation and general automation to new heights. Identify areas having automation gaps and research/determine industry tools that can be applied.

The position oversees and manages 50+ resources and manages relationships with other QA groups/teams across the enterprise. This role requires collaboration with matrix teams and applying advanced problem-solving techniques and coordination with other core team members to resolve system issues, maintain complex business logic and identify and implement innovative solutions. Manages cross team perceptions, issues and risks. Demonstrate an ability to create, manage and track multiple projects and communicate their overall status. Identify critical success factors for quality assurance and apply pragmatic solutions to deliver results.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

  • Build and maintain relationships with business partners and product managers
  • Build and maintain relationships with IT peers both within Online and other related areas
  • Coach and motivate associates and develop future leaders within the organization.
  • Manage SDTC and ensure change is implemented within the applicable frameworks and processes
  • Maintain and share knowledge of the quality technology landscape, including a constant review of the latest technologies and their potential impact or leverage
  • Build a quality roadmap that supports the delivery of business’s roadmaps
  • Ensure project teams are properly resourced and guided to success, including managing issues and removing roadblocks, developing work plans, technical specifications/tools, etc.
  • Ensure status reporting is accurate and is properly disseminated to key management partners
  • Manage annual budget
  • Continually optimize team composition of associates and onshore/offshore contract resources, including growing associates’ skills, providing them opportunities to meet their career objectives, and rewarding success

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

  • 10 plus years’ experience in related field; 3 to 5 of which is in a manager capacity
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Ability to manage 50 FTE team, strong ability to run existing systems and support project implications
  • Ability to motivate teams that support multi-hundred million dollar business
  • Abiltiy to set goals and metrics then track and measure results
  • Develop talent through work assignments, setting clear expectations and consistently raising expectations
  • Ability to attract, motivate and retain top talent
  • Experience with on-shore/off-shore support and development arrangements
  • Experience with management of large-scale e-Commerce or web platform
  • Test Tool proficiency: HP QC, QTP, Selenium, iTKO, Documentum, Endeca and an mid/large scale eCommerce platform a plus
  • Tecnical proficiency: Unix, PERL, KSH, Borne Shell, Java, Javascipt, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
  • Experience with open source test tools

EDUCATION REQUIRED -

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. 


YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 10+

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about
  • On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
