Responsibilities

 

The Sr. Analyst of National Operations will support the Retail Channel Enablement team with development and implementation of Retail channel reporting, analytics and communication.  The primary responsibilities include acting as a liaison with Retail Area Operations and HQ Retail Operation leaders, including Store Design/Merchandising, Area Real Estate, Store Technology, Sales Operations, POS IT, and Marketing Operations, utilizing established system standards and procedures.  The Sr. Analyst must have a solid understanding of the wireless industry, Retail, Billing/POS systems, Marketing and Operational practices and procedures. This individual must be innovative, results driven and a team player, with an ability to provide solution/resolution to complex business issues that impact results.

Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize Data Warehouse, financial and external vendor/partner data to compile business intelligence for strategic decision support as well as evaluating/enhancing performance of VZW Retail stores programs and initiatives.  This position will work closely with management to develop value-added analyses that lead to clear actions.  Additionally, this role will synopsize complex information into high-level overviews for Senior Executives.
  • Develop best practices approaches for analyzing Retail consumer and employee behavior in our stores as well as general tracking set-up and data interpretation.
  • Serve as the lead for Retail analysis communications
  • Educate and advise Retail support teams on how to best leverage available data and reporting tools
  • Identify, build, collect, report, and analyze key performance metrics of all product programs.
  • Create the definition of data mining and reporting requirements and work with the development teams and product managers to build a scalable and actionable data analytics system
  • Build automation methods needed for executive-level reporting such as daily dashboards (Excel, extracts, SQL, etc). Include metrics definitions and suggestions for further analysis
  • Identify opportunities and provide insightful and actionable recommendations for improving the business based on current and historical data.
  • Communicate Retail channel reporting and analysis to required business teams.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of strategic data analysis and reporting experience, coupled with aptitude for business analysis and product strategies
  • Education: BS or BA (MBA preferred) in Business, Finance, Statistics or other related field preferred. 
  • Advanced skills/experience with database analysis tools like Microsoft Access, as well as strong expertise with Microsoft Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables, Regression) MS Office, SQL language, SQL Server, MS Reporting Services, Java Script, Web Development languages (HTML, CSS, Jscript, Actionscript, PHP, etc). 
  • Ability to easily learn and navigate complicated data structures and reporting systems. 
  • Outstanding strategic analysis skills, demonstrated ability to capture data from multiple systems and sources, draw business insights, and make synthesized recommendations for management 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to clearly articulate complex ideas.  Includes strong presentation-building, PowerPoint skills with outstanding ability to build visual models and convey relevant meaning. 
  • Ability to compile and communicate performance metrics for both Retail shoppers and employees
  • Self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions and the judgment to know when to seek guidance
  • Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources and translate into effective and actionable plans
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to drive the implementation of projects as well as resolve operational issues
  • Strong mathematical, statistical, analytical and/or financial background preferred
