Job Description

The staff chaplain for Home Health and Hospice is a core member of the hospice interdisciplinary team and provides direct and indirect spiritual assessment, spiritual care, ministry to patients and families, and end of life discussions, participates in interdisciplinary patient staffing and coordination with community clergy, administer/coordinates sacraments and rites to patients in the place they call home, participates in memorial programs and continuous improvement activities, serves on committees, and performs such other duties as are agreed upon between Director and Staff Chaplain.

Basic Qualifications:

Master of Divinity Degree or master's degree in theology or pastoral care or the equivalent .

Ordination and/or ecclesiastical endorsement by the faith group to practice as a chaplain.

CPE training of at least four Units.

Other Qualifications:

Emotional and spiritual maturity. Compassion and rapport with patients/families/staff/providers. Respect for faith and spiritual traditions.

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred. Networking and relationship building skills. Basic computer skills.

License or Certification:

Current certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc., or certification eligible.

Exemption Status: Exempt

Hours/Pay Period: 64 Salaried

Schedule Details: Generally weekdays between 8am to 5pm, however patient need may require flexibility.

Weekend Schedule: Occasional weekend commitments due to special event programs.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $1345.28 based on a full-time position
