Job Summary:

The Manager in Training (MIT) is responsible to gain the knowledge and experience required for promotion to one of the M level positions under the direction of their General Manager. This knowledge and experience is gained by attending training classes and workshops as well as through job experience activities. The MIT will assist all store management in customer service, safety, shift management, and vendor relations. The MIT will work in support of the store management team to ensure customer satisfaction, maximize sales, and achieving established goals. The MIT ensures an exceptional customer experience that supports our vision to become "fast casual to go with world class convenience".

Principal Duties:

  • Provide a pleasant shopping experience for all customers. Respond to customer complaints or inquiries. Solicit customer feedback, input and information through various communication vehicles. React to information and create a plan to consistently meet the expectations of all customers.
  • Support and follow all safety and security initiatives.
  • Receive training in management skills necessary to perform in an "M" level position and attend company sponsored training classes.
  • Create a developmental plan and accomplish goals in an appropriate time frame.
    • Position duration 0-12 months pending performance, position availability, and ability to apply for open positions.
    • Partner with management team to develop career plan and gain experience in potential future positions (FFM, IMM, FM-NJ Fuel Only).
  • Work with management team to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards of performance for Manager level duties.
  • Participate with the store management team in developing projects to improve overall store performance.
  • Successfully complete MIT learning program.
  • Maintain a minimum of 35-40 hours worked per week.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced retail, food service, or fuel environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (additional coursework, training, or certification will be required)
  • Successful completion of all requirements to become a Shift Manager
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Availability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs
  • Ability to learn and utilize the store's computer applications
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for this position
