Overview:

Unilin Flooring, Thomasville, is a fast-paced, technologically advanced manufacturing facility that produces beautiful high quality laminate flooring. The plant operates 24/7, utilizing a 12 hour shift schedule. Open positions are available on the night shift.

Responsibilities:

Primary Objective: Operate a variety of equipment and perform maintenance to maintain machines, mechanical equipment or structures.

Complies with all company safety rules and procedures. Identifies, advises and implements safety improvements Performs work to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or structures in repair Services, repairs, adjusts, and tests machines and other equipment Performs basic troubleshooting for electrical problems with single phase and 3 phase motors, wiring and controls Performs maintenance functions and optimization projects on high precision manufacturing and handling equipment Identifies warning signs of impending equipment failure Assists other departments with preventative maintenance tasks Uses experience and creativity to fix or repair machinery breakdowns to minimize downtime Uses experience to identify and implement improvements Performs other duties as assigned Ability to travel to other facilities as needed, up to 100 miles with occasional overnight stay

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience in maintenance of a manufacturing environment Exceptional attention to detail Above average math skills Basic experience with PLC's, VFD's and computers Ability to work with automation, production, and computer systems Welding skills, certification preferred however not required Fabrication and modification of machines, Machinist experience preferred Experience with plumbing, pumps, bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gearboxes, bushings, and the installation and maintenance of those devices Capable of reading electrical diagrams Understand basic high/low level voltage Preventive maintenance on highly automated machinery (packaging machinery, handling equipment, etc.) Good organizational, communication and personal skills Can work both independently and with a team Ability to work days or nights, 8 or 12 hour shifts depending on scheduled shift, available for call-ins and working outside normal scheduled hours for coverage of vacations, assistance with projects, and working over holidays as needed.
