Manual Lathe Machinist

Great company in the Newport KY area is seeking to add an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to work in this temp to hire opportunity!!

Company operates first shift and you can select either five 8 hour days or four 10 hour days. Company has a climate controlled environment and a great team culture which you would be expected to add to.

Company specializes in small lot production, making replacement parts and other production pieces for a wide range of clients.

Person absolutely must be able to fully perform core functions, including:
- Machine Set-up
- Operates various engine and turret lathes as production needs require.
- Will cross-train on other manual machinery as familiarity with equipment develops.
- Makes setups and performs necessary operations to manufacture various sized parts of steel, cast-iron and other materials to specifications.
- Chase Threads
- Skill in replicating from blueprint, the product attributes and outcomes required to spec
- High capability in quality checks and first piece sign off.

Ideal candidates would:
1) Minimum 2 years related (manual lathe) experience required.
2) Experience and ability to use micrometers to measure tolerances to .0005.
3) Knowledge of basic shop math to turn, thread and bore according to accepted machining standards.
4) Ability to move between machine types, as the client has a diverse set of equipment
5) Great attendance and work ethic
6) Willing to submit to pre-employment background check

Pay is dependent on skill and experience. Target range is $17-21/hr.
