3M is seeking a Film Maintenance Intern for the Film Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations Division located in Decatur AL. Ready to be part of what's next?
Job Summary :
An intern (typical 10-12 week, full-time schedule assignment) position is a temporary assignment with 3M's Corporate Student Programs. Corporate Student Programs is designed to provide 3M with the opportunity to identify qualified candidates for regular employment, and to provide students with the opportunity to integrate their academic knowledge with work experience. As a Student Programs participant located in Decatur, AL you will develop skills, and gain work experience in your field of study.
The person hired for the position of Maintenance Engineering Intern will be responsible for leading all aspects of maintaining and improving the equipment and reliability thereof for several large extrusion lines.
This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Participates in the promotion of equipment reliability and advancement of predictive technology within manufacturing to drive operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement
- Learns and participates in all facets of a Lean Organization including Total Productive Maintenance
- Supports the determination of the main causes of equipment downtime and supports the implementation of proactive solutions
- Learns and supports control systems
- Participates in FMSCO Intern group projects
- Willingness to support manufacturing needs outside normal business hours
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor level or higher degree program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with an accredited university
- Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Completed a minimum your Junior year (6 semesters) by the start of the internship
- Previous experience as a 3M Intern or Technical Aide OR internship with a manufacturing company
