Position Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to be get in with a stable company that offers growth opportunities! Ryder is looking for a an IT Application Support Specialist, thatwill provide application support to users who operate Transportation Management and Distribution Management Systems. We are looking for candidate with a Bachelor's Degree and has at least five years of experience in IT or Supply Chain Manangement. We would prefer someone with some experience with Manhattan SCALE and/or Accellos 3PL WMS OR is willing to be trained!! This position allows working remotely and requires at least 60% travel.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics and computer science or business preferred or equivalent work experience Five or more (5+) years of experience in IT, preferably in transportation and/or logistics Five (5) years of work experience providing onsite/remote technical support Previous warehouse and transportation management experience a plus Ability to effectively and clearly communicate to the end-user community, tailoring the communication style/method to the specific need, and be able to discuss technical solutions in a non-technical manner Ability to quickly learn new applications and new technologies Strong oral and written communications skills Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors) to produce high quality work with minimal supervision Self-starter with ability to work independently and as member of a team and capable of independent decision making Intermediate organization skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment and self-driven towards operational excellence
Ability to work well under pressure and successfully meet deadlines
Capable of multi-tasking with excellent time management skills Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices Be able to travel domestic up to 50% including some international. 24 x 7 availability Microsoft Office/Microsoft SQL and Oracle SQL to create, select, execute and delete statements Linux and Unix knowledge/experience Intermediate analytical/technical ability and problem solving/troubleshooting skills Intermediate customer service skills Knowledge of the supporting business process and functionality of assigned applications
Responsibilities:
Facilitate technical meetings to drive the recovery of issues
Responsible for the analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of second level technical incidents while adhering to departmental procedures
Partner with the Infrastructure and Application teams to ensure issues are resolved in an efficient and timely manner
Proactively learn new technologies to support applications as they become part of the Ryder portfolio
