POSITION SUMMARY
Aetna's actuarial internship program is in place to introduce top performing students to what life is like as an actuary at one of the nation's leading health care companies. Real work experience on essential projects, networking opportunities both within and outside the actuarial field, and career development in everything from technical skills to public speaking are all a part of this 12 week summer internship program.
Fundamental Components:
Essential and hand picked projects
Classroom and online-based training
An executive speaker series
Social events
Periodic in-person training sessions and networking opportunities
Onsite actuarial libraries and study rooms
Fully subsidized housing
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
3.0+ GPA preferred
Ability to pass actuarial exams
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Effective communication
Demonstrated leadership and initiative
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCES
Functional - Actuarial/Financial actuarial analysis/1-3 Years
Functional - Actuarial/Pricing: local market & rate filings/1-3 Years
Functional - Actuarial/Risk analysis/management/1-3 Years
Functional - Actuarial/Modeling & tool development/1-3 Years
REQUIRED SKILLS
